Brace yourself for a bumpy ride

It’s a fast growing sport and Lanzarote is their on the leading wave for all enthusiasts. The trade winds of April to October make it the prime time to get skimming off the waves, as your kite captures the breeze.

Riding from a firm base

The 4 km beach up north in Famara is the place to catch the north easterlies, and the main magnet for thrill seekers. There are many more sites, Orzola and Punta Mujeres are on the east coast, and just a 20 minute trip from the popular centre of Costa Teguise. Dropping down south, Playa Honda is another hotspot, and handy for the island capital of Arrecife.

Develop your skills

The interest centred in lanzarote means there is no shortage of specialist equipment shops, and plenty of training clinics, for those that need a guiding hand. Once you have mastered your board and kite, Lanzarote is ready to whisk you to new heights.
