Starting from Puerto del Carmen at 7am, some 1,300 athletes will swim 3.8 kms, cycle 180 kms, and finally run 42.2 kms. For the professionals, there is the lure of the 50,000 dollars prize money, but for many it\’s the ultimate challenge of mind and body.
